Bessie I. Heath, 94 of Townville, passed away on November 12, 2023 at UPMC Northwest. Bessie was born on June 29, 1929 in Steuben Twp to the late Lyman and Jessie Fitch. She married her husband: Ira Heath on October 23, 1948. He preceded her in death in November of 1973. She worked at the David Mead Inn in the kitchen but was primarily a homemaker for her family. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Bessie enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and most of all she loved her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Barbara (Larry) Gray of Townville; Nancy (Wayne) Wiley of Delavan, WI; and Ira Heath of Phoenix, AZ, eleven grandchildren: Billy; Deborah; Bonnie; Jessie; Michael; Kimmy; Kristina; Richard; Jessica; William; and Holly, eleven great-grandchildren: Kyler; Zachary; Elizabeth; Anthony; Walker; McKayla; Madison; Hayden; Christopher; Shelby; and Michelle, five great-great-grandchildren, son-in-law: Richard Littlefield, sister: Eleanor Doctor of Townville, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents Bessie was preceded in death by her daughter: Betty Littlefield, daughter-in-law Diane Heath, sisters: Ruth Drake and Dorothy Caldwell, longtime companion: Earl Weigle, brothers-in-law: Alonzo; William; and James Heath, and Lawrence Smith, and sisters-in-law: Dorothy Maynard and Sue Taylor.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, INC. 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, where visitation will be from 12 – 2 pm & 5 – 7 pm on Monday, November 20. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 21, at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Wayland Lively, officiating.
Interment will follow in Brandon Cemetery, Seneca, PA.
