Daniel R. Bond died peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.
He was born January 2, 1944, in Titusville, PA and graduated from Strong Vincent High School in Erie, PA.
Following his service as a Naval Air Crewman in the South Pacific, he graduated from Gannon University with a BA in English. He also attended Edinboro University completing graduate courses in Criminology and Computer Science.
Daniel was first employed as a Probation Officer and later became a Property and Liability Claims Specialist.
After completion of additional flight training, he became licensed as a Commercial Pilot. He flew for Multi Tool and Seco-Warwick Corporation. He then served as the Manager of the Meadville Airport for several years until he retired to his farm in Conneautville.
Daniel was an EMT for Conneaut Lake Area Ambulance Service. A volunteer Fire Fighter and former Assistant Chief for Vernon Central Hose Company. Daniel was the chairman of the Vernon Township Water Authority. And he served as past Exalted Ruler of the Titusville Elks Lodge #264.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary E. Bond of Conneaut Lake; his daughter, Valerie (Robb) Waid of Meadville; stepsons: Keith (Sarah) Semerod, of Colorado; Jimmy and Justin Hyde of Florida; stepdaughter Stacy (Channing) Miller of Florida; his brother, Patrick (Janet) of Ohio; his first wife, Vicki (Jim) Chandler of Meadville; nieces and nephews; his beloved grandson, Max Waid; and dear friends Bob and Kathi Burns of Meadville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Fraulein Smith; his second wife, Judy, and his son Matthew Bond.
Calling hours will be Friday, December 8, 2023 from 1pm-3pm at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake, PA; with a Service to follow.
