Eleanor Louise (Reckhart) Fuchs

Eleanor Louise Reckhart Fuchs, 90, of Erie, PA and formerly Clarks Mills, PA, passed away after a brief illness on October 9, 2023.   Eleanor was born on August 26, 1933 to the late Kenneth N. and Mildred E (Cornman) Brenneman in Harlansburg, PA.

Eleanor was a 1951 graduate of Sandy Lake High School. After high school, Eleanor attended Shenango Valley Commercial Institute for bookkeeping. In her earlier years, she worked at Carpenter’s Electric in Erie before becoming a homemaker. She then worked at Wolf’s Head Oil in Mercer, PA. One of her proudest achievements was becoming a CNA and working for Countryside Convalescent Home in Mercer. Eleanor retired from Horizon Home Health Care in Greenville, PA.

Eleanor married Robert D Reckhart on July 13, 1957 and was with him until his passing in 1998. She married Albert E. Fuchs on September 8, 2001, spending their golden years together until his passing in 2018.

Eleanor was a member of the Clarks Mills United Methodist Church, the Forget-Me-Not Homemakers Club of Clarks Mills and the Erie Stamp Club. She was an avid collector of stamps, oil lamps, tea pots, Barbie Dolls, and just about anything with a butterfly on it.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Kenda J. (Thomas) Hoovler of Fredonia, PA, and Faron D. Reckhart of Cochranton, PA. Two grandchildren, Kenneth (Amanda) Hoovler and Trichelle (Matthew) Eddy, along with four great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, James C. Brenneman of Hermitage, PA.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, one sister, two sister-in-laws and two brother-in-laws.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where visitation will be from 4 pm – 7 pm on Thursday, October 12. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 am on Friday, October 13 with a procession to Perry Chapel Cemetery for a Graveside Committal Service to follow.
