Marvin E. Norr, 72, of Conneaut Lake passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, surrounded by loved ones and has gone fishing with the Lord.
He was born May 18, 1951, in Meadville, a son of James and Martha Stover Norr. He married Karla Jean Talbot November 7, 1999, and she preceded him in death August 27, 2017.
Marvin was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving stateside in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971 with the 82nd Airborne Division. He worked as a machinist for Conrail for 27 years.
Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on engines, arrowhead hunting, watching westerns and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include two children, Travis Norr (Gretchen) of Meadville and Marissa Norr; two step-daughters, Lisa Haibach (Brian) of Lynchburg, VA and Jill Gamble (Gary Jr.) of Meadville; nine grandchildren, Alexandria Gregor (Raymond Miller, Jr.), Anthony Nason, Morgan Kightlinger, Trenton Schreffler, Elijah Schreffler, Ryan Schroeder, Timothy Norr (Skylynn Cole), Jalisa Norr, and Stone Haibach; three great grandchildren, Ace Rankin, Cabella Miller, and Aria Norr; two sisters, Delores Norr of Meadville and Donna Fleeger (Jim) of Pennsylvania; life-long friend, Theodore (Joe) Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and seven brothers and sisters, Clair Norr, David Norr, Susan Norr, Ruth Cordes, Barbara Weatherby, Richard Norr, and James Norr, Jr.
Calling hours will be Friday, October 20 from 12-2 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE ROAD, CONNEAUT LAKE where the funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Timothy Solomon officiating.
Interment will be in Rocky Glen Cemetery, Adamsville with military honors.
