William (Bill) Lee Scott

William (Bill) Lee Scott, 84, of Meadville passed away Monday, October 16, 2023, at home.

He was born February 4, 1939, in Meadville, a son of Leroy and Mildred Kingen Scott.  He married Marsha J. Beatty January 27, 1962, and she preceded him in death February 26, 2020.

Bill was a 1957 graduate of Meadville High School and was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959.  He worked as a car shop foreman for the Erie, Erie Lackawanna, and Conrail Railroads for 30 years.

Bill and Marsha built a home in the country, liked to go on day trips, out to eat, and just spending time with their Shelties, watching birds, wildlife, and enjoying the bucolic country scenery.

Bill was a member of Watson Run Presbyterian Church.  He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing.

He will be missed by his three daughters, Jacqueline (Gary) Harned of Meadville, Linda O’Day of Midlothian, VA, and Carolyn (David) Harned of Meadville; his sister-in-law Diane Harned of Meadville; his grandchildren, Anthony Bocchine, Michael (Michela) Bocchine, Jason (Quincy) Harned, Logan (Mary Beth) O’Day, Shanley O’Day, Delanie O’Day, Tyler Smock, Haley (Tim) Jackson, and Corey Harned; his great-grandchildren, Henry O’Day, Hattie O’Day, Frances Jackson, Clare Jackson, Amaryllis Bocchine, and Zachary Harned; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Angelo Bocchine; and his two sisters, Wynan Hart and Bonnie Cornell.

Calling hours will be Friday, October 20 from 9-11 a.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Greg Vanderveen officiating.

Interment will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
